The topics of our trainings are concentrated on the role of villagers and citizens, their participation, and their contribution to develop their own commune practicing decentralization.
In the trainings we use many strategies like: Presenting, group discussion, brainstorming, role plays and case study. Using these methods, we teach citizens to understand and know how to manage main issues which happen in their own community, especially to know how to analyze major problems so that it is easy for them to solve and to discuss with members of the commune council. This step is very important to the citizens before they are going to attend other training courses on the advocacy strategy. Because after they have learnt advocacy strategies, participants will use these strategies to put in practice of advocacy activities.
Within our other training course, citizens are improving their knowledge of understanding about decentralization which can not be developed if there is no participation from citizens. Therefore we ask them to discuss about their abilities and responsibilities for setting up networks in order to serve their own interests. The topics include how to organize a long term planning process for advocacy and a model actions plan as well as how to organize a sustainable collaboration process with members of the commune council. |
