Forum Theater - some plays we use


Forum Theater

My friends

Characters:
Mr. A and Mr. B are students who become drug addicts in the story. Mr. C is a student and also the classmate of Mr. A and Mr. B. Mr. D is a drug dealer and also an old friend of Mr. A and Mr. B.

Act 1: Outside the School
Mr. A, Mr. B, and Mr. C got out of the school. They meet their old friend Mr. D. Mr. D invites them to a bar, but Mr. C doesn't want to go.

Act 2: At the Night Club
Mr. A and Mr. B want to be brave and handsome. Mr. D understands their feelings so he starts to lobby them to taste Amphetamine.

Act 3: Tro Khmer (Khmer instrument similar to the violin)
Mr. A, Mr. B, and Mr. C get out of school.
Mr. C wants to learn how use Tro Khmer. Mr. A and Mr. B want to cheat Mr. C.

Act 4: Music
All the characters arrive at the guesthouse, Mr. A and Mr. B start to smoke Amphetamine. Mr. D asks Mr. C to join the smoking group.

My friends is aiming to show that some drug users have many expression words to lobby and advocate and always want to have new drug users so they can earn benefit from their dealing.

My family

Characters:
Mr. A is a father, a person who causes the problem. Ms. B is a mother, a victim, Mr. C is the first child Mr. /Ms. D is the second child

Act 1: Partiality/Unfair Belief
The father in the story believes that daughters/girls don't need to learn a lot, and he always wants to stop his daughter from school and rather do the housework.

Act 2: Sunday Morning/Motorbike disappears
The carelessness of the parents and missing care make the son go out to people and pawn a motorbike for drinking beer.

Act 3: Alcohol Night/Late at night Violence

My family is aiming to show that unfair beliefs have a bad effect on women's rights and other rights such as right to education ... etc. Caring about children is very important for every family. Parents have to give homework/housework which is suitable for their childrens' age and time. Alcohol causes violence and has bad effects on their happiness.

Leaving home - confronting drugs

Characters:
Ms. A is a mother Mr. B is a son Mr. C is a friend of Mr. B Mr. D is a drug dealer Ms. E is a prostitute.

Act 1: Poverty and drop out of school
The young son wanted to drop out of school and leave to the capital with his friend to earn money far away from his house.

Act 2: Hard works
The young man needs energy to carry hard works and start using drugs.

Act 3: Bored fisherman
Having been a long time on the sea, the young starts to get bored and wants to see the land again. His friend invites him to the brothel. There, they smoke Amphetamine and drink alcohol. Under the alcohol influence they have sex without using condom.

Leaving home confronting Drugs is aiming to show that young people who drop out of school and go away from home to find a job can face many problems such as being cheated, become addicted, prostitutes etc. Drinking alcohol can lead to lost attention.

We must know

Characters:
Mr. /Ms. A is a peer educator, Mr. B is a person who is addicted to drugs, Mr. /Ms. C is a friend of Mr. B, Mr. D is a drug dealer

Act 1: Peer Education
Mr. B is a young person who is not interested in peer education and believes that peer education on drug prevention is boring. He wants to have fun and enjoy himself.

Act 2: Share prostitute
Mr. B wants to be the most handsome, attractive and wonderful guy. Mr. D starts to show Mr. B some kind of drug. Under the drug influence they want to share a prostitute girl without using condoms.

Act 3: Too Late
At the end of the story Mr. B becomes addicted to drugs and HIV positive.

This roleplay is aiming to show that young people should spend some of their time to understand how to prevent themselves. Drug influence can make people lose their attention and cause a bad attitude.

To be absent minded

This play is a similar story to "Leaving home confronting drugs". The importance of the story is the focus on a young woman who came to Phnom Penh City finding a job. At the end of the story the young woman cannot earn money, but comes back home, is HIV positive and becomes addicted to drugs.
