Peace Network


Peace Network


Peace Building project has set up a peace network which is the backbone of the peace building effort. The participants can apply to become network members. They will finally be selected by cooperation of the Peace Network leader and trainers. The purpose of the peace network is to be a youth channel to help community youth and promote their participation in the peace building process.

Network is as back bone of project. They are peace keepers at community level. Keeping update information from communities to project coordinator through network leader the network meeting is an important tool. Network meeting organizes 3 times. The first meetings are collecting network activities and any problems in their communities, and about the preparation for different activities such as youth/student forum, youth/student discussion. The activities of network members are from their own ideas. The network members are young people from different communes in the provinces.

 

The second meetings informs/introduces how to collection information from community people for publishing legal and social justice book.
The third meetings are evaluation meetings in order to assess the activities they carried out. In each province there are 8 to 15 network members who participate in the meetings. Currently the network has 67 members.
Increased Community Dialogue through Youth Peace Forum/discussion: The network members in each province do activities in their communities. These gatherings will be about justice and its relation to peace building processes.

  - Participants: Youth in communities and high school students.
  - Topics on social and legal justice: e.g.: what does justice mean related to KRT? Reconciliation within community people.
  - Resource persons: Network members, local authorities, monks, nuns and old villagers who experienced from Khmer Rouge time.

Forum/discussion: selected participants will participate in a morning forum. In each province network members organize 3 youth peace forums/discussions and each peace forum/ discussion has 50 participants (50% women).
