In 2008 we celebrated the International Women's
Day in 5 provinces: Kampong Cham, Prey Veng, Siem Reap,Svay Rieng, and Takeo;
furthermore, we organized some activities, some speeches by key speakers about
women's rights, opinions of participants, questions- answers, games, sing a song,
dancing...etc. Moreover, we would like to remind the women in target area as well
as Cambodian women to know and understanding on women right and history of women's
day and join the happily day with the women in the world. |
Each year around the world, International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8. Hundreds of events occur not just on this day but throughout March to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Organizations,
governments and women's groups around the world choose different themes each year that reflect global and local gender issues.
Khmer Youth Association (KYA) was celebration IWD at five provinces- Takeo, Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng, Prey Veng and Siem Reap. With theme " Women and men united to end violence against women and girls" . |
